FAQs

Q?If I use a Re-manufactured or Compatible cartridge, will it void the warranty on my printer?
A.

According to the Sherman & Clayton Antitrust Acts, it is illegal for an equipment manufacturer to void a warranty for a product in which the customer used a re-manufactured or compatible cartridge.

Q?What is the shelf-life of a cartridge if I buy in bulk?
A.

Depending upon the storage conditions, cartridges in their original, sealed packages last 1 to 2 years. Cartridges that have been opened typically last up to six months.

Q?Is it safe to use Re-built or Re-filled cartridges?
A.

Cartridges that have been re-built are taken apart, filled and reassembled, and may or may not have parts replaced. They are frequently not tested before they are shipped out for resale, which may result in a cartridge that does not work properly – or at all – in your printer.

Re-filled cartridges are either opened or have a hole drilled, and simply re-filled with ink. Parts are not cleaned, inspected or replaced.

Shackford & Saxon does not stock or sell re-built or re-filled ink or toner cartridges.

Q?Are re-manufactured cartridges equal to original cartridges?
A.

Re-manufactured ink and toner cartridges are original equipment manufacturer (OEM) cartridges that are taken apart and cleaned, then have all parts replaced and are refilled with high-quality ink or toner, reassembled and tested. When an OEM cartridge is re-manufactured by a reputable company, customers can expect performance and quality that matches the original.
